The HG Wells Short Story Competition were delighted Alan N Webber offered us a signed copy of his book “The Man Who Stole Tomorrow“.

Blending time-travel adventure, historical fiction, social commentary, and literary mystery, The Man Who Stole Tomorrow reimagines the legacy of HG Wells.

The book has been donated to Sandgate Library, where it will join a fast growing collection of HG Wells related books.

Sandgate Parish Council Chairman Tim Prater was delighted to receive the book from Alan. Tim said:

“We’re so proud that Sandgate was the home to HG Wells for over a decade. Sandgate, Folkestone and the wider area shaped, informed and gave a setting to some of his most famous works.

“We’re developing the Sandgate Library HG Wells collection not just as a collection of his work, but works inspired and about him too, including a full collection of anthologies from the HG Wells Short Story Competition.

“This donation from Alan Webber – with its really charming inscription – will join that body of work. Its great to see that well over 100 years since Wells left Sandgate, he continues to inspire.”
